Chicken wrap, lettuce and tomatoes, quick and tasty

There chicken wrap it is a rolled piadina stuffed with marinated and grilled chicken, dressed with lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise. It is the ideal dish if you want to prepare a delicious and tasty dinner, but also when you need to prepare a lunch in advance: instead of the usual boring sandwich, try taking away a wrap! The word “wrap” is English and means “to wrap”: the delicious filling is in fact wrapped in a very soft piadina or tortilla, previously heated in a pan. You can buy the piadina or prepare it at home following our recipe. The chicken wrap satisfies everyone, it is quick and very easy to prepare.

Ingredients for 4 people

  • Sliced ​​chicken breast: 400 g
  • Tomatoes: 2
  • Salad: 100 g
  • Mayonnaise: 100g
  • Rosemary: 1 sprig
  • Thyme: 2 sprigs
  • Salt and Pepper To Taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil: 2 tbsp
  • Tortillas or wraps: 4
  • Calories: 387 calories/portion

Preparation

Wash and dry the thyme and rosemary with paper towels. Finely chop them and keep them aside.

Arrange the slices of chicken breast in a large baking dish and season with salt, pepper and chopped aromatic herbs.

Let the chicken and spices marinate for 30 minutes at room temperature. If you prepare the wraps in the summer, leave the chicken to marinate in the refrigerator.

Wash the tomatoes and cut them into slices of about 5 mm. Season them with a pinch of salt.

Dress the salad with oil and salt.

Once marinated, cook the chicken breasts on a very hot grill pan for about 10 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking.

Cut the cooked chicken breasts into strips. In the meantime, heat the piadina or tortillas on a hot non-stick plate.

Remove the piadina from the plate and spread ¼ of the mayonnaise on the surface.

Add a part of lettuce, two slices of tomato and a part of chicken breast to half of the piadina.

Close the piadina first at the bottom and then roll it up, tying it with kitchen string.

Proceed in the same way with the other wraps, then serve.

Advice and tips

The wrap is excellent both warm and cold. You can store it in the fridge covered with plastic wrap 1 day maximum.

You can add vegetables to your liking: rocket, grilled vegetables such as courgettes, aubergines and peppers, tomatoes in oil or various pickles.

You can also change the sauces as you like: try, for example, filling the wrap with a tzatziki, to immediately feel transported to ancient Greece!
